Little River Band bringing 50th anniversary tour to CFCC’s Wilson Center

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Little River Band will bring its 50 Years and More Tour to Wilmington later this year, performing at Cape Fear Community College’s Wilson Center.

The concert is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the Wilson Center.

Known for its signature harmonies and string of hit songs throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Little River Band has sold more than 31 million albums worldwide. The group was once described by Eagles co-founder Glenn Frey as “the best singing band in the world.”

Little River Band is known for hits including “Reminiscing,” “Cool Change,” “Lady,” “Lonesome Loser,” “Take It Easy on Me,” “The Night Owls,” “Man on Your Mind,” “The Other Guy,” “Help Is on Its Way” and “Happy Anniversary.”

According to the Wilson Center, the band’s 50 Years and More Tour celebrates five decades of music while continuing to bring its classic sound to audiences across the country.

The current lineup includes longtime bassist and lead vocalist Wayne Nelson, keyboardist and vocalist Chris Marion, drummer Ryan Ricks, lead guitarist and vocalist Colin Whinnery, and rhythm guitarist Bruce Wallace.

Tickets will be available to Wilson Center members beginning Wednesday, June 10, at 10 a.m.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public online and at the box office on Friday, June 12, at 10 a.m.
