Wilmington Police investigating shooting in Cypress Cove; Woman seriously injured

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police Department officers and detectives are investigating a shooting that left a woman with life-threatening injuries late Thursday night in the Cypress Cove development at South Turners Run.

According to police, first responders were called to a residence shortly before 10 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim who had been shot multiple times.

The victim was transported to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say a suspect is not currently in custody. Early findings suggest the incident may be domestic-related, though officials emphasize the investigation is still in its early stages.
