Overnight lane closure planned on Market Street for water valve repair

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Drivers should expect an overnight lane closure on Market Street Monday as crews replace a broken water valve.

According to the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority, the right eastbound lane of Market Street in the 4300 block will close beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17.

The closure will be between Cinema Drive and South Kerr Avenue. Eastbound traffic will be shifted into the inner travel lane.

Westbound traffic will not be affected.

The lane closure is expected to remain in place for approximately eight hours while crews complete the repairs.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution and slow down when traveling through the work zone.
