WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A fourth person has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Jaysir Kamar Price in Wilmington last month.

The Wilmington Police Department said 22-year-old Quintell Green Jr. of Wilmington was taken into custody Thursday morning following an investigation by WPD’s Criminal Investigation Division.

Green is charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge.

Police said the arrest was made through a joint effort involving WPD, the State Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Marshals and the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.

Green is being held without bond at the New Hanover County Detention Center.

Price was shot near South Fifth Avenue and Dawson Street on Sept. 8. Officers responded shortly after 8 p.m. and found the 14-year-old suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Family and friends gathered Sept. 26 for Price’s funeral at Mount Roney Baptist Church.

Three other people were previously charged in connection with his death.

Dorian Maurice McNeil, 24, and Sencere Maurice Ortiz, 22, are each charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. McNeil was arrested Sept. 21, while Ortiz was arrested Sept. 23.

McNeil is accused of killing Price and stealing his phone.

Alexis Johnson was charged with felony accessory after the fact. Police previously said a $150,000 bond was set during Johnson’s first court appearance.

WPD has said the case remains an active investigation.
