Heide Trask Drawbridge eastbound lane closure scheduled Thursday for inspections

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Drivers traveling toward Wrightsville Beach should expect possible delays Thursday as the North Carolina Department of Transportation completes scheduled inspections of the Heide Trask Drawbridge.

According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation,  the eastbound outside lane will be closed Thursday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with one eastbound lane remaining open to traffic.

The closure is part of a three-day inspection schedule that began Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The westbound outside lane was scheduled to be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 20-21, during the same hours.

Officials are advising drivers to allow extra travel time when traveling to and from Wrightsville Beach and use caution when passing through the work zone.

The inspections are scheduled to conclude Thursday afternoon.
