A Bladen County man was sentenced to almost 15 years in prison
BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A judge sentenced a Bladen County man to almost 15 years in prison for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and attempted first degree arson.
On August 25th of last year, the 67-year-old victim was at his home in Clarkton off Highway 2-11 when his son, Kirby Elkins, forced his way in, head-butted his dad, stabbed him, and sprayed lighter fluid in his father’s face.
The victim then fought back and knocked away a lighter in Elkins’s hand and used a kitchen chair to fend Elkins off.
