A heartleft dream granted as a couple shares a meal amidst uncertain future
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A special dream was granted for one couple who faces an uncertain future together.
Carolyn McMillian had her dream of enjoying a meal with her husband Julian granted, by going to lunch at Olive Garden.
It was all part of Elderhaus’ Grant a Dream program.
Julian was diagnosed with leukemia and was told a month ago, he had about 3 months to live, while Carolyn has been living with Parkinson’s for the past 3 years.
Carolyn said there are very few times now when Julian and she can spend time together and not think about what’s coming.
“And so I thought this would be great for the both of us to get out and just to get our mind off of the situation that we, you know, face, every day,” Carolyn said. “But we don’t complain.”
The lunch also allowed the McMillians to celebrate the 58th anniversary, which was about a month ago on March 5th.
