A Hole in One addition as the Golf Barn opens in Brunswick County

WINNABOW, NC (WWAY) — After nearly two-and-a-half years of planning and work, the Golf Barn held its grand opening Friday afternoon in Brunswick County. 

More than 50 people showed up for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Golf Barn offers a variety of golf activities, from an 18-hole mini golf course to a driving range, and even a nine-hole par 3 course. 

Edwin Burnett is president of the golf barn. 

He said it means a lot being able to create a new place for people to enjoy in Brunswick County. 

“It’s extremely important and special to me,” Burnett said. “I’m born and raised here and growing up, there wasn’t a whole lot to do in Brunswick County. And now that as the game of golf, I feel like its expanded and reached so many more people. We wanted to offer something for everybody.” 

Burnett said while the Golf Barn just opened, he’s already looking toward the future by possibly adding more food options and other amenities.
