A local business owner pitches her product on Shark Tank
SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) — A local business owner will have a big opportunity this week to pitch her business plan on ABC’s tv show Shark Tank.
Founder and owner of Topsail Steamer Danielle Mahon will be on the show Friday.
She is pitching their seafood steam pots which contain a combination of seafood, corn, and potatoes. Then you take home the pot, add water, and cook it on your stove. People can pick up the pot from any of the 10 stores or order on their website and they will ship nationally.
Mahon said her customers are what pushed her to take a dive into the tank.
“You wouldn’t believe how many who would come in the store and say you should really be on Shark Tank; you should be on Shark Tank. And so, I think I had my 200th customer say that to me one day and I thought you know what maybe I will just apply. So, I went online and just applied and it took about 6 months and I winded up being able to go to LA and shoot an episode,” Mahon said.
Mahon adds that as a small business owner she is so grateful to have this opportunity.
