A man running for Brunswick County Commissioner arrested on domestic violence charge

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man running for Brunswick County Commissioner has been arrested for domestic violence.
According to arrest warrants, Brunswick County Planning Board Chairman 44-year-old Clifton Cheek was charged with a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence Sunday.
A warrant accuses Cheek of “grabbing the victim and tackling him to the ground…the defendant was current parent of the victim.”
He was given a $1,000 secured bond thousand dollar secured bond and he posted bond Monday.
