Adam Scott talks about challenges of playing a new course

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Today was the first time the field competed at Eagle Point Golf Club. Earlier today the pros took part in a pro-am.

The Wells Fargo Championship is considered to be a tune-up for the upcoming players championship. Today, pros participated in a pro-am to get one final tune up before round one tomorrow.

All the stars took part today including Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, and number 10 golfer in the world, Adam Scott. Scott is returning to the Wells Fargo Championship for the 9th time, but this time to a new course here at Eagle Point.

He struggled a bit today as learned the ins-and-outs but he says the change of venue is welcomed, “I was looking forward to coming to a course that not everyone had played. Although I’m working hard to figure it out, seeing some firm greens really excites me because we don’t often get that. Some control is going to be needed and I’m looking forward to the challenge of a new venue for sure.”

Scott will be part of the early groupings tomorrow as he tees off with Patrick Reed and Jim Furyk tomorrow at 7:45 for round one.
