Adult Easter egg hunt draws hundreds to Leland park

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Easter egg hunts aren’t just for kids. Adults got in on the fun competition at the first Leland Night Hunt. This is an Easter egg hunt just for adults.

Thursday night, about 600 hundred people showed up at Leland Municipal Park to scavenge for eggs with flashlights and enjoy a night out.

Michele Lindsey went to the egg hunt with her friends.

“We got all of our girlfriends together and we dressed up,” Lindsey said.

Denece Woody also dressed up her friends for the hunt.

“I figured it’s night time we have to show up and be pretty,” Woody said. “I think it’s awesome, it’s fun to get out and play with everybody.”

And while music, drinks and food were a part of the festivities it really came down to how many eggs you found. Valirie Lewis says she found a good amount of eggs.

“I got 12 eggs so from what I hear that’s pretty good,” Lewis said.

“I remember as a kid I always enjoyed the egg hunts. And it just kind of brings back childhood memories as an adult coming back and getting to relive that,” Lewis said.

The Town of Leland will host a free Easter egg hunt for children on Saturday at 10 am. This will also be at the Leland Municipal Park.
