Adult egg hunt one of many appeals to residents in Leland
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Tonight’s egg hunt got the community out where they could listen to some music, have some fun and enjoy the growth in the area.
This isn’t just any egg hunt; it’s an all adult egg hunt. It’s complete with a live band and a 90’s theme. But it’s not only about finding eggs.
“Really it’s just another way to build community here in Leland,” Niel Brooks, Town of Leland Operations Director, said. “People can come out with their neighbors, friends and get excited about it.”
This is just one of many things Leland is doing to appeal to its residents, make the area more fun and keep people moving to the area. The town just released plans for a new rec-center and there’s always pickle ball. Residents say they love the events to keep them on this side of the river.
“I think it’s fantastic,” Michelle Ray, Leland, said. “I have a really large family so for me and my kids there are always fun things to do. We’ll do the egg hunt on Saturday that they do at North Brunswick High School and the breakfast with Santa. They’re always doing things that interest me and I’m constantly checking their web page.”
The boom in Brunsco is just starting, and residents say they’re all for it.
“Hopefully they can get more businesses in here and if they do, that will get more people in here and they can stay over here rather than going across the bridge.”
Some oppose growth of small towns like Leland, but these residents i spoke with tonight say they are excited for what’s to come.
