Aldi eliminating plastic shopping bags from every store

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Aldi customers will no longer be able to purchase plastic bags.
The discount grocery retailer has eliminated plastic shopping bags from all 2,300 United States stores.
The retailer aims to promote sustainability by reducing the use of plastic bags.
They’re encouraging customers to bring their own reusable bags.
Aldi’s CEO says the company became the first major retailer in the country to eliminate bags at all of its stores.
Customers who forget their bags can buy cloth bags in the stores.
