Althea Gibson Tennis Complex court reconstruction nearing completion

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Work on eight tennis courts at the Althea Gibson Tennis Complex is nearly finished.

Courts 1-4 are reopening for daytime play only, as crews are awaiting parts to fix the tennis court lighting control system.

Estimated time for the tennis court light repair is 2-3 weeks.

Wilmington Parks and Recreation say there are still some corrections that need to be addressed on courts 5-8, so those will remain closed until repairs can be made, pending warmer weather.
