Applications being accepted for children’s grief summer camp

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A special camp supporting children in the community who have experienced the death of someone important in their lives is returning this summer.

Lower Cape Fear LifeCare is currently accepting applications for Camp Voyager at the Phillips Counseling and LifeCare Center on Physicians Drive.

Second through fourth graders will attend camp June 10th through 13th, with fifth to seventh graders going June 24th through 27th.

Through play, activities, crafts, and a safe environment for kids to share their feelings, the camp helps them find healthy ways to express their grief.

Camp Voyager helps them begin to heal and move forward in life. It also offers the opportunity to meet others who have gone through a similar experience, proving that they are not alone, and make new friends.
