Applications now open for 2025 Filmed in NC Fund

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Cucalorus Film Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2025 Filmed in NC Fund.
It’s a statewide funding program supporting indie filmmakers that was launched 10 years ago through a partnership with the North Carolina Film Office.
The fund provides direct financial support to film and media artists who are permanent residents of the state or full-time students living in North Carolina year-round.
The program accepts submissions this year for projects with budgets below $1,500,000 and awards range from $500 to $3000 per project. The deadline to apply is October 8, 2025.
“North Carolina has a rich legacy of independent filmmaking going back to Early Owensby and even Dino DeLaurentiis,” said Cucalorus Executive Director Dan Brawley. “The Filmed in NC Fund continues that tradition by uplifting bold voices and supporting creative risk-takers and building our industry from the ground up.”
