Arboretum certified as wildlife habitat
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Arboretum is about more than just plants. It’s also about protecting wildlife.
This morning, the Cape Fear Garden Club’s Gardening for Wildlife Committee presented a plaque to the Arboretum for becoming a certified wildlife habitat through the National Wildlife Federation. There are 140,000 certified wildlife habitats in the United States.
The Arboretum met the criteria because it has food, water, shelter and a place for wildlife to raise young.
The Gardening for Life Committee works to protect our natural resources.
