Archer records hat trick as Hoggard opens playoffs with 9-0 win over Richmond

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – The rain caused a change of venue to Legion Stadium, but Hoggard girls soccer still managed to show why they are the top seed in Class 4A East with a 9-0 win over Richmond in the opening round of the NCHSAA tournament.
Just 1:19 into the game, Brielle Archer scored the opening goal while slipping to the ground. She then added another around seven minutes later on her way to a hat trick.
Hoggard’s next game will be Thursday between the winner of Topsail and Laney, whose match was postponed to Tuesday.
