Area store clerks face weapons charges from ALE
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Two area store clerks face weapons charges after separate investigations by North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement agents.
Chad Jeffrey Allen Vasos, 21, of Wilmington, is charged with carrying a concealed weapon at an establishment licensed by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission. Agents charged Vasos, an employee at Monkey Junction Pit Stop at 4902 Carolina Beach Road yesterday.
That same day, agents were conducting an ABC inspection at Inman’s Country Store at 2116 Longwood Road in Brunswick County, when they say they found a stolen Smith & Wesson 9 mm handgun behind the counter under the cash register. Inman Country Store employee Jean W. Brutus, 41, of Jacksonville, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm.
Agents from ALE’s district office in Jacksonville will submit reports to the ABC Commission on both incidents.
