Area beaches on national list

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An annual beach quality report includes four beaches in our area. The National Resources Defense Council gives three stars to Wrightsville Beach, Kure Beach, Surf City and Topsail Beach.

The stars are for water quality last year and the last three years and for issuing advisories promptly. The report marks off for the frequency of tests at the site and because advisories are not posted online and at the beach
