Armed drug trafficker sentenced to 15 years in prison

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A federal judge sentenced a Wilmington man to 15 years in prison on drug and gun charges.
Daryl Cromartie, 32, pled guilty in February to possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, and PCP.
In February 2023, the Wilmington Police Department, the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI began investigating Cromartie and used confidential informants to buy drugs from him between February and July.
He was arrested last July at his home with a gun, 8.01 grams of cocaine, 42.8 grams of crack cocaine, 55.2 grams of heroin/fentanyl, and 37.2 grams of marijuana.
