Arrests made in larceny ring that spanned several counties


 

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – Three men are behind bars, accused of stealing property in Bladen, Columbus and Robeson Counties.

Bladen County Sheriff,  James A. McVicker, said this investigation has been ongoing for several months.

McVicker said they recovered $20,000.00  worth of stolen property from Bladen County and more than $10,000.00 worth of property from the other counties. “We recovered four wheelers, tools, lawn mowers, trailers, and other property,” said Sheriff McVicker. “These individuals were targeting barns, sheds and outbuildings and most of their thefts occurred during daylight hours when homeowners were away.”

 

Jerry Paul Britt Junior, 41, was charged with five counts of felonious larceny, eleven counts of obtaining property by false pretense, six counts of felony possession of stolen goods, two counts of felony larceny, one count of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and one civil contempt of child support. He was placed under a $199,000.00 secured bond.

Tristan McRae Singletary, 32, was charged with five counts of felonious larceny, one count of misdemeanor larceny, one count of felony breaking or entering a motor vehicle, one count of obtaining property by false pretense, and one count of felony conspiracy to commit larceny. His bond is $80,000.

George Robert Matheson, 26, was served with a warrant for felonious larceny, and felony possession of stolen goods. He was placed under a $2,000.00 secured bond.

Investigators are still searching for 20-year-old Dillon Alexander Freeman. Freeman is wanted for several counts of misdemeanor larceny and two counts of larceny of a motor vehicle.

The Columbus and Robeson County Sheriff Offices, as well as Lumberton, Whiteville and Bladenboro Police Departments were also involved in the investigation.
