Asheville residents face water outages, low pressure due to Helene

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The City of Asheville Water Resources Department says Buncombe County customers are experiencing periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to weather conditions generated by Helene.

Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increase the potential for back siphonage and the introduction of bacteria into the water system, according to an alert from the water department.
