BOILING SPRING LAKES, N.C. (WWAY) — A road sweep was anything but easy for Ashley after taking down South Brunswick on Wednesday.

The set scores were 25-16, 27-25, 26-24.

In the 1st, the Cougars called a timeout when trailing 20-7. They finished the set on a 9-5 run before dropping it. That momentum followed as the 2nd and 3rd went to extras, but the Eagles erased set points in each to persevere.

Marley Burk and Jessie Hill led Ashley with eight kills each. Burk also registered five blocks.

“I think it just comes down to who has more potential,” Burk said. “Who wants it more and who has more power and energy. You’re just thinking about that one point, that one thing to finish the whole game. At that point, you just have to go back to the basics. You’re like, ‘OK, this is not a life or death situation, let’s just get this point like it’s practice and let’s get it done with.'”
