Ashley standout Saniya Rivers named NCBCA Girl’s Basketball Player of the Year
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)–Saniya Rivers finished her high school basketball career as one of the most decorated athletes the area has ever seen and the accolades continue to pile up for the Screamin’ Eagle senior.
On Monday, the Ashley High School star was named the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association Girl’s Player of the year. During her senior season Rivers averaged 36.8 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.3 steals, and 5.1 assists per game.
She help lead the Ashley girl’s basketball program to the Final Four this past season in Class 4A.
