SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — The Associated Artistes of Southport (AAS) will open the Franklin Square Gallery for four days in early February to celebrate the lives and work of a number of their members who have died.
AAS will host the memorial show and sale February 6th through the 9th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily despite the Franklin Square Gallery being closed for the season until February 16th.
Artists whose work will be featured in the Show include the late Jan Boland, Eileen Gordon, Eloise Randolph, Dick Staat, JoAnn Staat, Ann Thompson, Sharon Vinciguerra, and others.
Show Chairperson Rich O’Donnell explains, “Our primary goal in hosting this Show is to pay tribute to these beloved members.” Secondarily, “The Show will give the artists’ family and friends an opportunity to engage with their loved ones’ collectors and patrons and sell some of their loved ones’ paintings and pottery to those who will enjoy it for years to come.
AAS will host a reception at the Gallery on Sunday, February 8th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with light refreshments to recognize the contributions of the artists.
