At least 1 extracted from crash involving 3 cars on Kerr Ave.


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating a crash on Kerr Avenue and Franklin Avenue Sunday evening.

New Hanover County Dispatch says the call came in just before 8:45 p.m. The dispatcher said witnesses reported two cars were severely damaged.

Cathryn Lindsay with the Wilmington Police Department said the crash was between a mustang and two other cars.

Dispatch said EMS extracted a person just before 9:00 and transported them to the hospital. Lindsay said the driver of the mustang had to be cut out of the car. She said three people were transported to the hospital.

Lindsay said the injuries reported are serious, but do not appear to be life threatening.

How the crash happened is still unknown at this time.
