ATF doubles reward for info on New Hanover County burglary

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, has announced an increased reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a burglary occurring in Wilmington.

On July 1 after 3:00 a.m., the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office responded to a break-in at Heritage Guns, located at 5202 Carolina Beach Rd.

The suspects managed to get inside by driving a vehicle into the storefront.

Investigators believe several suspects were inside the business and left with multiple firearms.

The ATF is working with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office on this ongoing investigation.

Investigators believe the suspects traveled between the Charlotte area and Wilmington. The vehicle used in the break-in has been located.
