ATF offers reward for information on Wilmington burglary

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of suspects involved in a burglary that took place this week in Wilmington.

On Monday after 3:00 a.m., the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office responded to a break-in at Heritage Guns, located at 5202 Carolina Beach Rd. Suspects gained entrance by driving a vehicle into the storefront. Investigators believe several suspects entered the business and left with multiple firearms.

The vehicle used in the break-in is believed to have been stolen from the Charlotte area. The vehicle is a Hyundai sedan with a license plate reading JDM5507.

The ATF is working with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office on this ongoing investigation.
