AT&T makes repairs to fiber line, restores service

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — AT&T says crews have restored service after an outage in the Wilmington area.

Spokesman Josh Gelinas said a contractor cut a fiber while doing utility work for another entity. He said some customers in the Wilmington area experienced issues with wireline, U-Verse and mobility services.

Gelinas said crews finished repairs and service was restored Wednesday afternoon and service is currently running normally. He says AT&T apologizes for the inconvenience.
