‘Autism Takes Flight at ILM’ event scheduled for April
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A special program to help people with autism feel more comfortable at the airport is now taking registration for its 4th year.
‘Autism Takes Flight at ILM’ gives families with children who have autism or other special needs a chance to practice what it is like going through an airport. The event is held at Wilmington International Airport.
Organizers say families can participate in trial-runs, including practice with checking a bag, getting a boarding pass, going through security, waiting at the gate and even viewing a plane.
The event is April 22nd.
Pre-registration is required. You can register at www.CapeFearABA.com, www.CoastalAustismSolutions.com, or email autismtakesflight@gmail.com.
