WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Testimony in the Tru Colors Brewing double-murder trial focused Friday on autopsy findings for Briyanna Williams and Koredreese Tyson, with jurors hearing details about the gunshot wounds that killed both victims.

Prosecutors called the pathologist who performed the autopsies on Williams and Tyson. During her testimony, she described the nature of the wounds and the differences between the shootings.

The pathologist testified that Williams appeared to have been shot at close range.

“There was soot and burning of the wound, which to me indicates that it was very close, almost contact, because the items that came out and damaged the skin are known not to cause injuries further away. So to me, this was a near-contact entrance wound of the left neck.”

The same pathologist also performed Tyson’s autopsy and testified that the evidence indicated he was not shot in the same manner as Williams.

“You can see the difference in this wound is that there’s no powder, there’s no soot, there’s no charring. So this is a more distant of a shot wound compared to Ms. Williams.”

According to testimony, Williams suffered two gunshot wounds and Tyson three, with the gunshot wounds identified as the cause of death for both victims.

The trial is scheduled to resume on Monday, when state prosecutors are expected to call additional witnesses.
