Avelo Airlines announces expansion at Wilmington International Airport

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Avelo Airlines has unveiled plans for the largest expansion in its history, announcing exclusive nonstop service from Wilmington International Airport to Fort Myers’ Southwest Florida International Airport and Hartford’s Bradley International Airport in Connecticut.
The flights are set to launch this fall.
Starting November 7, Avelo Airlines will operate these routes twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, utilizing Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. One-way fares from ILM will start at a $62, with reservations available at AveloAir.com.
In addition to these new routes, Avelo is also celebrating a milestone of flying more than 100,000 customers at ILM. The airline has also announced a partnership with the local Chamber Leadership Academy to engage area youth in pursuing careers in aviation.
With the introduction of Fort Myers and Hartford, Avelo will now serve a total of eight nonstop destinations from ILM. Avelo currently flies to New Haven, Washington, D.C./Baltimore , Philadelphia/Delaware Valley, and three Florida destinations: Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Tampa.
