Azalea Festival searching for mascot, rescheduling garden party

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Azalea Festival is searching for a mascot and they want your help. Plus, another Azalea Festival event has been rescheduled for the fall.

Organizers want you and your kids to make 3-D paper flowers that they will attach to greenery to make up the mascot. Those are due June 30. Click here for more information.

In March, we told you two Azalea Fest concerts had been rescheduled for October. Sublime with Rome and Michael Franti & Spearhead will play Friday, October 16. The Avett Brothers with Chatham County Line will hit the stage on Saturday, October 17.

Now the garden party also has a new date: Wednesday, September 16 at Airlie Gardens.
