AZALEA GARDEN TOUR: 4000 Chapra Drive
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Lisa and Steve Schnitzler’s garden on Chapra Drive has been carefully mapped out so that you can enjoy the serene landscape, while soaking in its history.
The original owner kept detailed records of each plant, including eight different types of azaleas, which the couple has continued since they took over the garden nearly a decade ago.
With quirky touches, Lisa has added her own flare to the garden, but she still believes it’s the age and tradition that make it a must see on the tour.
“I would say generally it’s the size. It’s 1.3 acres, and it’s a continuing looping trail designed for people to walk it, and I think it’s the maturity of a lot of it.”
If you want to learn about Lisa’s garden and its history… the Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Garden Tour runs Friday through Sunday.
