AZALEA GARDEN TOUR: 4901 Trailing Vine Lane

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Linda MacRae says she had no prior gardening experience before she started working on her own.

Instead, she relied on her intuition to design each space throughout the garden and now it’s on the Azalea Garden Tour. Her goal was for her garden to be a relaxing experience and to create a serene feeling for her visitors.

Unlike in most yards, you won’t find any grass in Linda’s. What you will find are what she refers to as her outdoor rooms. Each one is filled with artwork, plant life, fountains, and plenty of seating.

“All of them are kind of meditative with a sort of serene feeling. I wanted the garden to be a relaxing experience, so I was very careful with colors. I didn’t want anything that would be too stark or that would hit you in the face. So everything is designed for relaxation.”
