AZALEA GARDEN TOUR: Thomas Garden

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — From palm trees to pansies, 141 Edgewater Lane is "shore" to catch your attention on this weekend's Azalea Garden Tour.

It's home to a garden with a coastal Carolina theme. Beverly Thomas plants around a large, in-ground pool in her own backyard. Decorative flamingos and shells garnish the perimeter to add a seaside signature. Thomas said it's a way to enjoy the beach away from the beach.

"Whatever you like, whatever your passion is, you can always put that in your garden," Thomas said. "I love the islands and the beach, so I wanted to make it like I lived here all the time."

The coastal charisma carries on through hundreds of camellias, too. The only thing missing is sand.

The Cape Fear Garden Club's Azalea Garden Tour runs Friday through Sunday around Wilmington.
