Bald Head Island ferry that ran aground back running routes

BALD HEAD ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — The Bald Head Island ferry that ran aground last month is back on the water.

A spokeswoman for Bald Head Island Limited says the ferry Adventure was cleared to go back in service last Thursday, but today is the first day it is running routes. She says the captain is still out pending the Coast Guard’s investigation. WWAY has learned the captain is Rodney Melton.

A Coast Guard spokesman says the investigation continues.
