Barfield apologizes for walking out of board meeting

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) —  New Hanover County Commission Chairman Jonathan Barfield publicly apologized Monday for abruptly leaving a meeting Thursday in the middle of a discussion.

Fellow New Hanover County commissioners confirmed that he apologized at a meeting Monday morning.

The heated discussion that led to his exit Thursday was between Barfield and Commissioner Woody White. The two have had some tense moments, but Thursday’s was the first that interrupted a meeting.
