Barth heading back to Bucs

TAMPA, FL (WWAY) — Connor Barth is heading back to the NFL and the team he starred with earlier in his career.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced this morning that Barth is once again their kicker.

The Bucs signed Barth after cutting Kyle Brindza Monday, a day after the rookie missed two of three field goals and an extra point in a 37-23 loss to the Panthers. Brindza, who was 6 of 12 on field goals and 6 of 8 on extra points this season, beat out Barth for the job in the preseason. Barth had a tryout with Tampa Bay today after Tweeting about his availability Sunday afternoon when several NFL kickers struggled.
