WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Battleship North Carolina will have a series of special lighting to celebrate numerous things throughout the month of December.

On Saturday, December 20th, the Battleship will be illuminating blue and white in honor of the 6th anniversary of the U.S. Space Force.

Then on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the Battleship will be glowing red and green in celebration of the holiday.

To celebrate the New Year, it’ll be shining in multiple colors.

Beginning at sunset each evening, the illumination will cast a colorful glow across the Wilmington skyline.

“Our holiday lighting displays are a simple but meaningful way to celebrate service, tradition, and community,” said Dr. Jay Martin, Executive Director of the Battleship North Carolina. “Whether you’re local to our area or visiting family, exploring Wilmington or enjoying a quiet evening by the river, we hope these colors bring a bit of light and hope to the season.”

As a reminder, the historic icon will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily including the holidays.
