BCSO detectives searching for man

UPDATE: The suspect is now in custody.
According to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, the fugitive was arrested at 6 o’clock on January 14th. Heidel is being held in jail without bond while facing several charges.
These charges include assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and attempted first degree murder.
A parole officer and North Carolina probation officer attempted to serve Heidel with a warrant for a violation after his initial release, Heidel attempted to flee in a vehicle.
In doing so, he struck an officer with and dragged him with his car.
As of now, the officer has sustained serious injuries.
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office needs your help finding a fugitive wanted for murder.
Nicholas Anthony Heidel, 39, is wanted on charges of attempted first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon on a government official.
The Sheriff’s Office says he’s 5 foot 9 and about 210 pounds with brown hair and eyes.
