Beach ranger now patrolling the sand at Carolina Beach
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Carolina Beach Parks and Recreation department has added a beach ranger that will help maintain nice upgrades the town has added recently including the boardwalk.
The ranger patrols from the Carolina Beach Fishing Pier to down at the end of town limits making sure locals and visitors are abiding by town ordinances.
Police and ocean rescue are still on the beaches as well and the ranger will be around throughout the year.
“Our beaches are very popular as you know in December and January,” Parks and Rec Director Eric Jelinski said. “We can have some beautiful beach days, so the beach ranger will be out here but will also be doing some cross training with the police department.”
The ranger will be checking for no glass bottles on the beach, no skateboards or bikes in busy areas on the boardwalk, and no dogs on the beach from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
His goal is to make sure everyone has a fun and safe experience while in Carolina Beach.
