Belville relocating Town Hall to make way for NC Highway Patrol

BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Belville is relocating its Town Hall to a new space in Waterford Village Shoppes to accommodate a public safety expansion in northern Brunswick County.
Town officials announced Tuesday that the new municipal offices will be located at 497 Olde Waterford Way, Suite 200—above New Day Café off Highway 17. The move makes room for the North Carolina Highway Patrol, which has purchased the former Town Hall building to serve as its new headquarters for operations in Brunswick, Pender, Columbus and New Hanover counties.
“We are eager to support the North Carolina Highway Patrol and excited about this development and the opportunities it brings for the future of Belville,” said Mayor Mike Allen in a statement. “We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during this transition period.”
Lieutenant Colonel Jason R. Deardorff with the Highway Patrol praised the town’s partnership.
“The Town of Belville has been incredibly gracious and accommodating in working with us,” Deardorff said. “This will significantly help us patrol the growing area of Northern Brunswick County and ultimately, Southeastern North Carolina.”
Town operations will continue in the current location until the move is finalized in the coming weeks. The new Town Hall is expected to open to the public soon.
