BEMC, ECE donate $5,000 to support community college lineworker programs

SUPPLY, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation and ECE have donated $5,000 to support lineworker training programs at two southeastern North Carolina community colleges.
The funding will be divided evenly, with $2,500 going to Brunswick Community College and $2,500 to Southeastern Community College, according to a news release. The money is designated for student scholarships to help cover tuition, equipment and training costs.
Officials said the contribution is intended to support students preparing for careers in the electric utility industry, where demand for skilled workers remains steady.
The electrical lineworker programs at both colleges provide hands-on training designed to prepare students to maintain and repair power lines that serve communities across the region.
In a statement, BEMC CEO Josh Winslow said the donation reflects the organizations’ commitment to supporting workforce development and local infrastructure.
