WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Looking for a fun and slightly different way to celebrate the holiday season? Big Dawg Productions will present “Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!)” for the next two weekends at Thalian Hall.

The fast-paced show takes a slightly irreverent look at holiday classics and traditions from around the world including seasonal icons from ancient times to topical pop-culture and every carol ever sung.

Josh Bailey, Randy Davis and Steve Vernon are performing in the three-actor show.

The play begins with two actors performing yet another version of Charles Dickens’ beloved classic, ‘A Christmas Carol.’

“One of the actors has performed it so many times, the thought of performing it one more time pushes him over the brink, so he leads a mutiny and gets the third actor involved,” said Vernon. “Instead of performing ‘A Christmas Carol,’ they poll the audience to find out their favorite Christmas stories and do those instead.”

The show is billed as a “madcap romp through the holiday season” featuring Santa Claus, Rudolph, the Grinch and other seasonal characters.

“Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!)” has been performed in the Cape Fear four times since 2004 with the most recent performance in 2017.

The show will be performed in the Ruth and Bucky Stein Studio Theatre located at Thalian Hall on Dec. 9-12 and Dec. 16-19. The Thursday – Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.  Click here for tickets.
