Bill Clinton makes suprise visit to Whiteville

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Former president Bill Clinton made a stop in Whiteville after his trip to the Port City.

This was the third time that Mr. Clinton has visited the Columbus County town.

Cheers from supporters on hand at the Columbus County Democratic headquarters greeted him as he exited his campaign bus.

Clinton said that he recognized the difficult times that Whiteville has faced during Hurricane Matthew and that like the rest of the country, everyone will be stronger together than apart.

He also said he knows the area will push to keep moving forward.
