Bill filed to regulate zip-lines after 2015 death of child

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A New Hanover County representative is sponsoring a bill in the general assembly that would regulate zip lines and courses in our state.

The measure is titled “Sanders Law” — named after a 12-year-old Wilmington girl who died in a zip-line accident at Camp Cheerio back in 2015.

The bill was filed by representatives Ted Davis and Julia Howard. The bill would change the way zip lines and challenge courses are regulated and operated.
