DUBLIN, NC (WWAY) — A nearly five hour stand off between law enforcement and an armed man barricaded in his vehicle has ended peacefully and subject in custody.

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office says it responded to a welfare concern call at a Dollar General around 3:30 p.m. just outside of Dublin.

The Sheriff’s Office says all staff at the Dollar General are safe, and this was not a hostage situation.

Out of caution West Bladen High School was placed in a lock down as children were on campus for after school activities. Students and staff have since been released with no incident.

This is still an open investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office says: If you or someone you know is struggling with suicide please contact 988 Lifeline.
